Enhancing lives through occupational therapy, specializing in myofascial release. Whether it is relief from acute or chronic pain, returning to important roles and activities that have been affected by disease, trauma, stress or strain, or simply getting back to a path of health and wellness, Body Ease Therapy can help you achieve your goals.
I have been in practice for over nineteen years after graduating from Boston University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. I have been incorporating myofascial release (MFR) into my practice after experiencing the significant role MFR had played in my own healing process from chronic pain after the birth of my second child. I understand the impact pain has on every facet of life - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. From my own personal experience, I have developed techniques through MFR to effectively help others in their journey towards health and wellness. I can say that I have seen over and over the positive impact that MFR has had! on the lives of my clients since incorporating it into my occupational therapy practice. I have performed myofascial release techniques on clients ranging in age from 3 to 95 years, and with a wide variety of conditions and diagnoses.
In addition to John Barnes' Women's Health seminar, I have also studied under the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and provide women's health and pelvic floor rehabilitation through MFR as well as other modalities specific to symptoms in this area. These can include but are not limited to urinary/bowel dysfunction (urge, incontinence, retention) painful sex and/or menstrual cycles, pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy and post-partum pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction that can emerge during transitional life stages such as menopause. By addressing specific symptoms and the body as a whole, Body Ease Therapy can help the transition back to exercise and daily activities after pelvic floor dysfunction occurs.
