Judy is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and a Licensed Massage Therapist. She has been practicing Myofascial Release since 2002. Judy is trained in Myofascial Therapy by John Barnes PT, LMT, founder of the Myofascial Release Approach. She is an Assistant Instructor for the Myofascial Release Seminars Nationwide and has been in a variety of settings including hospital rehab, her own practice and as a staff therapist at “Therapy on the Rocks” in Sedona, AZ one of John Barnes' treatment centers helping people from all over the world become pain free. Judy became interested in Myofascial Release while working in a local hospital as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She began studying Myofascial Release and using the techniques on her patients. It quickly became apparent to her that these techniques were long lasting and more profound than any other that she had been taught. During this time a family member was diagnosed with Degenerative Disk Disease, Spondylosis and arthritis and was told by 3 spine specialist he would need surgery to alleviate the pain. Judy quickly saw to it that he get treated with Myofascial Release prior to surgery. After 3 weeks of intense treatment at a treatment center, he no longer required surgery… and returned to an active, pain free life. Myofascial Release has changed Judy's life both personally and professionally .
My name is Rick Raugewitz. I have now been a physical therapist for over 30 years. In that time, I have worked in and experienced every facet of physical therapy. With that experience I have also gained many tools for my toolbox. However, I became frustrated with the results my patients were getting with the traditional approaches that physical therapy used for pain and dysfunction. In my searching for more effective methods to help my patients I started taking Myofascial Release classes from John F. Barnes. I was amazed to say the least by how viewing things differently and treating the body from a fascial perspective dramatically improved my ability to help my patients. Their pain decreased and function improved. It was a true paradigm shift for me. It is not just about doing "To" a person but about working "With" a person that also makes a profound difference in the effectiveness of this approach. Honestly, Myofascial Release has been a lifesaver for me, both personally and professionally.
Now, the cornerstone and foundation of my treatments is the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release approach. Releasing and improving the functioning of the fascial system makes a positive effect on pain issues and dysfunction; whether treating chronic issues like Fibromyalgia, orthopedic problems, athletic injuries, spinal pain , headaches, TMJ or the consequences of other disease processes.
If you have also been frustrated with the results of your search for wellness and healing give me a call. Myofascial release may be the key to unlock your bodies healing potential. It can augment and blend with your other care as well. I continue to learn and expand my skills and knowledge with this gentle, yet powerfully effective work.
