Dr. Maria Carla LaPutt is a New York and Connecticut licensed Physical Therapist. She has been practicing Physical Therapy for over 11 years. A graduate of New York University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program, she completed her education with honors in both her undergraduate and graduate work showing a true commitment to excellence. Her myriad and extensive experience in the healthcare industry includes clinical internships at world renowned facilities such as Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation, New York- Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center, and New York University Health Center. She started her Physical Therapy career at Beth Israel Medical Center where she trained in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient Physical Therapy. She spent several years working for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Over the past few years, Maria has developed her own concierge physical therapy practice in NYC's Upper East Side. A move to Greenwich, CT and a strong desire to deliver high quality medical care, wellness & preventative services has prompted her to open Ananda Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC.
Maria has an extensive background in the health and fitness arena. While completing her undergraduate and graduate studies, she worked as an exercise specialist and personal trainer in several gyms in NYC including Equinox and Plus One Fitness. She has been an avid vinyasa yoga practioner for the past 10 years. She is a registered yoga teacher and has obtained a 200 hour yoga teacher certification under the guidance of Ragunath Cappo and Sondra Loring. She is also a certified pilates teacher and has completed the internationally renowned Polestar Pilates for Rehabilitation comprehensive certification program. Maria's own personal health and healing journey has prompted her to become an advanced John F. Barnes Myofascial Release therapist. She has personally trained with John F. Barnes at Therapy on the Rocks in Sedona, AZ. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Yoga Alliance (YA), and the Pilates Method Association (PMA). She integrates the knowledge learned from multiple continuing education courses and her years of clinical experience to focus on her patients' rehabilitation goals with a complete scientific and holistic approach. She believes that her clients need to be active participants in their healthcare journey. Dr. LaPutt treats the whole individual and believes that health and healing is a lifelong commitment.
