Very early in my career as an occupational therapist, I become involved with working with people with chronic pain. A visionary physician at our hospital asked us to learn myofascial release. I was amazed at how well this technique worked to break the pain cycle. Combining my myofascial release skills with my occupational therapy training helped me work with my patients to identify how to eliminate negative habits and create new more positive habits leading to improved wellness and lessening the likelihood of the pain returning.
Over the course of my 25+ year career, I have continued to learn more and expand my skills. I have attended over 140 hours of myofascial release training and treated dozens of patients. I have become certified in yoga and holistic stress management. I'm also an expert in office and home based ergonomics. I completed my doctorate in occupational therapy and continue to explore both conventional and alternative interventions for improved health and wellness.
I am an occupational therapist with 25+ years of experience using MFR with my clients. I also have certifications in yoga, holistic stress management, and egonomics. I find this unique combination of skills helps me support my clients through the process of not only reducing their pain but creating a plan to keep it at bay.
