Time to Relax was "born" in 2011 after a series of events led to massage school in 2010. After learning a variety of styles of massage, plus some reflexology there was a sense of something else yet to be learned. Enter John Barnes Myofascial Release. These techniques combine gentle touch with centeredness, groundedness, listening and a connection to the energy of all things. Myofascial release is a journey, not a destination. Through these techniques, Chris uses her hands and her heart to help guide you along your healing journey. The body can heal itself, sometimes it just needs a little help. That's where an MFR therapist comes in to facilitate the process. New clients are encouraged to schedule a free consultation that takes about half an hour to come in and chat with Chris and decide if you'd like to try this style of therapy. It may be helpful for many things from migriaines to plantar fasciitis and all points in between (head to toe healing).
Time to Relax? is the professional home of Chris Ackermann, LMT WI # 10828-146 since 2011. Her focus on using myofascial release started after experiencing her first MFR class in August of 2014. Her personal history includes being hit by a motor vehicle while crossing the street, resulting in several broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. She resumed her life and had accepted that some things were permanently changed. MFR has allowed her to heal far more than she ever thought possible using standard medical methods. For her, healing truly is a journey, not a destination. She continues to further her skills and education by attending study groups and additional classes as she is able. Classes taken as of February 2019 are as follows: Myofascial Mobilization, MFR1 (x2), Unwinding (x2), MFR2, Fascial Pelvis, Cervical Thoracic, Advanced Unwinding, Women's Health, Rebounding, Skills Enhancement Seminar, Equine I, Equine II and Equine Skills Seminar. More classes are planned in the future and this will be updated as that progresses.
