I received my master's degree in physical therapy from Samuel Merritt College in 1996. Early in my career, I worked in a variety of settings with both orthopedic and neurological patient populations. In 1998, I started my private practice, Hands On Physical Therapy, in Berkeley, California.
I have utilized the John F. Barnes form of Myofascial Release as my primary treatment approach for the past 23 years. I also combine Myofascial Release with Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Visceral Manipulation, and Health and Wellness Coaching for a holistic, individualized approach in addressing client's unique needs.
Most of my clients come to see me for some sort of pain relief, whether it be for neck, low back, hips, knees, feet, shoulders, elbows or hand pain. I also commonly treat clients for the following:
Whiplash or motor vehicle accident injuries
Post surgical pain or scarring
Sciatica, numbness/tingling in the arms and legs
TMJ dysfunction, jaw pain
Fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome
Repetitive strain injuries, cumulative stress injuries
Tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis
Stress related aches and pains
Symptoms related to PSTD or nervous system dysregulation
